Emerald Charter Schools, a K-8 Knox County public school, was launched by Emerald Youth and remains a partner organization.
JOB TITLE: Receptionist
REPORTS TO: VP of Administration
JOB SUMMARY: The receptionist provides general office support with a variety of clerical activities and related tasks. The receptionist will be responsible for answering incoming calls, directing calls to appropriate associates, mail distribution, flow of correspondence, requisition of supplies, receiving the public and providing hospitality and assisting the public and staff, as well as additional clerical duties.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
- Greets and receives the public and answers questions, in person and by telephone; responds to inquiries from employees, citizens and others and refers, when necessary, to the appropriate person or department.
- Provides hospitality to both guests and staff, by ensuring meeting rooms are prepared, refreshments are offered, and any other hospitality needs are met.
- Answers central telephone system and directs calls accordingly. Provides callers with information such as company address, directions to the company location, company fax numbers, company website and other related information.
- Receives, sorts, and forwards incoming mail. Prepares outgoing mail as requested. Maintains postage supply. Coordinates the pick-up and delivery of express mail services (FedEx, UPS, etc.)
- Assists in the ordering, receiving, stocking and distribution of office supplies. Maintains base of office supply inventory.
- Composes, types and edits correspondence, reports, memoranda and other material.
- Operates office machines and coordinates maintenance as required.
- Assists with other related clerical duties such as photocopying, faxing, filing and collating.
- Manage additional projects and tasks as assigned, participate with any assigned groups or committees, and participate in area ministry network and organization events as requested, including working outside normal schedule as needed
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Dedicated Christian with clear knowledge of the Gospel and a passion for the mission of Emerald Youth Foundation; connected to a church community; possesses a strong reputation for honesty, integrity, and high moral standards.
- High School diploma
- Prioritizes tasks and works well under pressure.
- Demonstrated skill in the areas of organization and communication.
