Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced LMS Administrator to manage, maintain, and optimize our TalentLMS platform. The ideal
candidate will have a strong background in LMS and CMS systems, be highly organized, and possess technical expertise in
troubleshooting, course management, and system integrations. This role requires a proactive problem-solver who takes
initiative, fields tickets, performs updates, and ensures seamless LMS operation.
The LMS Administrator will work closely with the training and development team to enhance the learning experience,
implement best practices, and improve overall system efficiency. The ideal candidate has a background in education,
instructional technology, or IT and is familiar with a range of systems and software.
Key Responsibilities
LMS Management and Maintenance
- Oversee daily operations and administration of TalentLMS, ensuring a seamless user experience.
- Manage course creation, updates, user enrollments, permissions, and learning paths within the system.
- Monitor LMS performance, troubleshoot technical issues, and work with vendors or internal teams to resolve problems.
- Implement system updates, patches, and new features to enhance platform functionality.
- Maintain LMS security, user roles, and data integrity.
Support and Troubleshooting
- Serve as the primary point of contact for LMS-related support tickets and issues.
- Provide technical assistance to employees, trainers, and learners, troubleshooting login issues, content access problems,
and other system errors. - Work with IT to ensure smooth system integrations (e.g., Single Sign-On, APIs, reporting tools).
- Document system changes, troubleshooting steps, and solutions for knowledge base articles.
Course Development and Content Management
- Collaborate with instructional designers, trainers, and department leads to ensure high-quality learning materials.
- Optimize courses for engagement, accessibility, and compliance with best practices.
- Maintain version control for course updates and archive outdated materials.
Data and Reporting
- Generate and analyze LMS reports on course completion, user engagement, and performance metrics.
- Provide insights and recommendations to improve training effectiveness.
- Track and manage certifications, compliance training, and renewal deadlines.
Process Improvement and Initiative
- Identify and implement improvements to LMS workflows, automation, and learning processes.
- Research and recommend new tools, plugins, and integrations to enhance the LMS experience.
- Stay updated on LMS trends, e-learning technologies, and industry best practices.
Qualifications and Experience
Required:
- 2+ years of experience administering an LMS (preferably TalentLMS, but open to others like Moodle, Canvas, etc.).
- Familiarity with CMS platforms (e.g., Confluence and WordPress).
- Strong technical troubleshooting skills and experience with jira ticketing systems.
- Knowledge of e-learning standards such as SCORM, xAPI, H5P, and multimedia content.
- Ability to analyze LMS data and generate reports to support learning objectives.
- Experience managing user roles, permissions, and security settings within an LMS.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to juggle multiple projects.
- Strong communication skills for training staff, documenting processes, and working cross-functionally.
Preferred:
- Experience integrating an LMS with HRIS, CRM, or other enterprise systems.
- Knowledge of basic HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, and Wordpress for LMS customization.
- Experience with AI-powered learning tools and automation in LMS environments.
- Background in education, instructional design, IT, or related fields.
- Experience with project management tools like Jira.
