****This is a full-time Temporary/Remote position (3–6 months, with possibility of extension) ****
Hourly rate commensurate with experience.
SUMMARY OF JOB PURPOSE:
Responsible for providing financial and accounting office support to for the organization. Performs the accounting and financial service functions for programs funded by grants or special revenue. These functions include: preparing financial projections and budgets, actual v. budget reporting, reviewing/monitoring of individual grants and transactions for compliance with private, local, state and federal fund requirements, monthly reimbursements and collections, journal entries, and financial grant reporting including preparation of reports for granting authorities and the district’s annual report. Position may also be required to verify budget proposals for grant applications.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

- Prepares complex grant budgets in a variety of formats. Develops, implements and maintains the budget spreadsheet template.
- Reviews budget and personnel policies; federal, state and local laws and regulations; and funding agency policies to determine how they relate to budgeting for specific grants.
- Prepares monthly reimbursement package for state and federal grants
- Prepares monthly reconciliation of grant personnel and other expenses accordingly
- Assist with preparing and submitting reimbursement requests (RFRs) for federal, state, and local government grants.
- Performs a variety of general office support work such as organizing and maintaining various files, typing correspondence, reports, forms, and specialized documents, and proofreading and checking materials for accuracy, completeness and compliance with departmental policies and regulations.
- Coordinates the work of other office support staff assisting with grant related projects.
- Performs special projects and other related duties as assigned.
- Contributes to the efficiency and effectiveness of the department's service to its customers by offering suggestions and directing or participating as an active member of a work team.
- Represents the organization with dignity, integrity, and a spirit of cooperation in all relationships with staff and the public.
QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience:
High School diploma/GED; AND two (2) years of grant accounting support experience; OR an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Required Knowledge and Skills
Knowledge of:
- Policies and procedures of the accounting and finance functions.
- Use of specified computer applications including the design and management of databases or spreadsheet files and the development of special report formats.
- Business arithmetic.
- Financial record keeping and bookkeeping practices and techniques.
- Standard office practices and procedures, including filing and the operation of standard office equipment.
- Correct business English, including spelling, grammar and punctuation.
- Basic budgetary practices and terminology.
- Practices of reviewing financial documents for completeness and accuracy.
- Prior experience with government grant invoicing.
- Techniques for working with a variety of individuals from various socioeconomic, ethnic and cultural backgrounds.
Skill in:
- Performing accounting and financial office support work.

REQUIRED CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATIONS:
Continued employment is contingent upon all required licenses and certificates being maintained in active status without suspension or revocation.
- Nevada driver’s license.
- CPR and first aid certification within six (6) months of date of employment.
